Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager, Solvents is responsible for driving the growth of OXEA’s solvent business across North and South America, with a focus on solvent-based flexographic and gravure printing for flexible packaging applications.
This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong commercial acumen to identify new business opportunities, support customer implementation, and accelerate market adoption of OXEA’s solvent portfolio. Working closely with Sales, Product Management, Distribution Management, and customers, this position serves as the technical and commercial liaison between OXEA and the marketplace. This position reports to the Director, Global Business Development, Marketing.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, company policies, HSE standards, and applicable industry regulations.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop new solvent business opportunities in partnership with Sales, Product Management, and Distribution Management, supporting customers from initial engagement through first commercial order.
- Monitor technology trends, customer requirements, competitive activity, and market developments, providing insights that support business strategy and product positioning.
- Educate internal teams and prospective customers on the technical benefits and commercial value of OXEA’s solvent portfolio.
- Represent OXEA at customer meetings, technical seminars, and industry events.
- Coordinate and conduct hands-on press trials at customer facilities, working directly with press room personnel to support implementation of solvent-based flexographic and gravure printing applications throughout North and South America.
- Provide technical troubleshooting, application support, and process recommendations to help customers improve printing performance and manufacturing efficiency.
- Analyze, document, and present trial results and technical findings to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with cross-functional commercial and technical teams to support customer success and business growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Printing Technology, Print Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
- Five or more years of experience in solvent-based flexible packaging printing based on flexographic and rotogravure printing operations with strong hands-on knowledge in press room operations
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customer press room personnel, printing ink manufacturers, and other technical stakeholders. Experience leading or participating in cross-functional projects involving commercial and technical teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 35–40% throughout North and South America.
