Job purpose

The “IT Business Applications Specialist” maintains the IT business application portfolio and its associated server / client systems in the regional US sites.

 

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, and HSE standards.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the deployment, operation and support of the local IT business application portfolio
  • Supports the application portfolio rationalization, consolidation and standardization processes
  • Assist in global software Release- and Change Management and digitalization initiatives
  • Aid business functional application strategies with the management functions of IT
  • Manage and develop Customer relationship to capture feedback to improve the IT support
  • Capture business demand and identify solutions in coordination between Business and IT
  • Acting as liaison between Business Process Owner / Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and the IT teams
  • Act as project manager in IT projects
  • Oversees various projects involving business functions, contractors, end users and IT resources
  • Support the day to day maintenance and incident management of the IT and business applications in cooperation with customer internal organisations and 3rd party support personal
  • Creates application and system documentation
  • Supports the expansion of the emergency management
  • Local support to implement cybersecurity measures
  • Train end users in Microsoft application usage

 

 

Education requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent years of experience

 

Background and experience

  • ITIL Service Management Processes (Incident, Change and Problem Management processes).
  • Experience with support of special business applications and systems used in functional areas like Laboratory, Manufacturing and Engineering
  • Significant experience / success working in global teams
  • Experience working in an IT Service Center environment
  • 5-7 years’ experience in an IT & Business Function
  • Several years of professional experience with Microsoft systems (Windows 11, Windows Server, SQL Server)   
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications 
  • Project and demand management

  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge in incident and problem management
  • Proven understanding of server and IT technologies, processes, and procedures
  • Ability to balance competing demands for resources and adapt to changing priorities
  • Maintain a high level of flexibility in a corporate enterprise environment
  • Highly organized and detail oriented

 

Notable Working Conditions: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department within the organizations facilities

– Must be available to support Bay City onsite 2 days a week or as needed to provide necessary support.
